Mobile kitchens are taking over the food scene.

More and more people are putting their name into the ring when it comes to food trucks. Entrepreneurs, business owners, chefs and food lovers alike are joining the food truck industry. Therefore, if you travel to your downtown area, or a populated area with plenty of foot traffic in general, you will likely see a food truck or two lurking about, and no one seems to be complaining.

While we love all food trucks, no matter where they are or what the concept might be, we will be unleashing the top five food truck stops as well as some food trucks that can be found in these cities. As a little spoiler, we will be venturing to Boston, DC, Nashville, Atlanta and Buffalo for these food truck stops. Enjoy, and try not to get to hungry in the process.

Boston Food Trucks

Boston is alive with food truck culture — there is no denying it. You’d be hard-pressed to walk more than a few minutes without spotting, or smelling, a food truck. While there are many Boston food trucks to choose from, here are some of our favorite food trucks in Boston:

Chicken & Rice Guys

Chicken and rice may sound like an easy recipe, but don’t be fooled. Mastering a simple, yet delicious classic like this takes some experience. Just like the name implies, these guys know chicken and rice better than anyone else in the Boston area. If chicken and rice isn’t your jam, they’ve got all the halal classics including gyros, fresh warm pita bread and baklava. Once you try this place once — yes, just once — you won’t be able to stop coming back. You haven’t tasted chicken and rice until you have ventured to this Boston food truck.

The Chubby Chickpea

The Chubby Chickpea is fusing modern flavors and techniques with classic Middle Eastern dishes. The real star of the show here is the wide array of sandwiches that this truck offers. From the traditionalist to the vegetarian to the adventurous eater, there is something for everyone. So the next time you venture to this food truck, don’t be afraid to order an entree, a sandwich, a specialty sandwich … or all three! You cannot have enough of The Chubby Chickpea. Thanks to mobile kitchens like this one, it’s no wonder why Boston is one of the top stops when it comes to food trucks.

Boston’s Baddest Burger

Boston food trucks are the best food trucks. If you don’t agree with that, then here is something we can all hopefully agree on: Boston’s Baddest Burger is filled with some serious flavor, and every bite is just as good as the next. If you are a fan of homemade, fresh-ground burgers, then you need to make your next food truck stop at Boston’s Baddest Burger. This mobile kitchen is known for its fresh ingredients, which is never frowned upon. From “The Baddest” burger to one of their deli sandwiches, you will leave this Boston food truck satisfied every single time.

DC Food Trucks

If you are looking for a destination that is flooding with amazing food trucks, then look no further than DC. If you say you aren’t a fan of food trucks, then you have never journeyed to the capital of the United States and enjoyed some DC food trucks. While there are an endless amount of lunch trucks to choose from, here are some of our favorite food trucks in DC:

Captain Cookie and the Milkman

There are some amazing combos on this planet, but milk and cookies are near the top of the list. Enter Captain Cookie and the Milkman. This DC food truck has you covered in the milk and cookie department, and it also serves up made-to-order ice cream sandwiches. Fresh milk, hot cookies — it really doesn’t get better than that! From the famous chocolate chip cookie to ginger molasses, Captain Cookie and the Milkman has a cookie for everyone.

Capital Chicken and Waffles

It’s all in the title with Capital Chicken and Waffles — this DC food truck serves up chicken and waffles. The best of the best when it comes to chicken and waffles, might we add. With that said, this mobile kitchen also serves up traditional southern sides, such as bite-sized waffle “Poppers” and mac and cheese.

DC Taco

When thinking of a classic food truck dish/meal, street tacos come to mind every single time, and DC Taco has some of the best tacos in the business. Steak, chicken, fish, shrimp, veggie — you name it, and DC Taco has it! If you are a fan of corn tortillas (who isn’t?), then they are available upon request, and you won’t regret it. You haven’t had tacos until you have tried out this DC food truck. Your taste buds are about to be blown away with flavor.

Food Truck Stops

Nashville Food Trucks

Nashville might be known for its country music scene, but it should also be known for its food trucks. Food trucks in Nashville are filled with variety, fun and food lovers are seriously missing out if they have never gone to a food truck in this amazing city. Enjoy the country music and everything this destination has to offer, and also make sure to check out some of our favorite food trucks in Nashville:

The Grilled Cheeserie

When it comes to food classics, the grilled cheese sandwich makes the list every single time. Therefore, if you are a fan of gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches — and we know you are — then you are in store for a serious — and gooey — treat the next time you come to Nashville.

Cousins Maine Lobster

Do you like fresh lobster? If so, then you don’t have to go to a sit-down restaurant to get it. You can simply venture to this Nashville food truck, and then be blown away by how good it is in the process. If this truck seems familiar to some, that’s because it is. Cousins Maine Lobster was featured on “Shark Tank.” There’s a reason why this mobile kitchen is so successful, and it’s not just because it is one of the best Nashville food trucks, it’s because it is one of the best food trucks in the business.

Atlanta Food Trucks

If you ever find yourself in Atlanta, and if you love food, then you would be doing yourself, and your taste buds, a huge favor if you traveled to some of the food trucks of Atlanta. Believe it or not, Atlanta has quite the food truck scene. Here are some of our favorite Atlanta food trucks:

The Fry Guy

While fries are typically a side dish, if you will, they are the main course at the The Fry Guy. These Belgian-style street fries come in a cone, and you can order them in more ways than one. From blue cheese fries to bacon fries (mmm … bacon) to poutine fries, there is an option for everyone. If you like your fries plane, then that is, of course, an option, and you will also get to pick your favorite dipping sauce.

Mac the Cheese

Mac the Cheese brings comfort food to a completely different level. Macaroni and cheese being a major staple of the comfort food genre, you better believe Mac the Cheese serves up this classic dish, along with its own twist on it. If you are a foodie, then we will leave you with two things: (1) Comfort food should always be near the top of your food list, and (2) you have to try Mac the Cheese, especially if you are checking out the Atlanta food truck scene.

Food Truck Stops

Buffalo Food Trucks

If you ever find yourself in New York, do yourself a favor by traveling to Buffalo and digging in on the Buffalo food truck scene. Yes, there is plenty of things to do in New York (it’s New York, after all), but food trucks are sweeping the nation, and that includes Buffalo. Once you are here, make sure to try some of our favorite food trucks of Buffalo:

Ted’s Hot Dogs Charcoal Chariot

In food truck fashion, your chariot awaits. The Charcoal Chariot has the best hot dogs in the business. If burgers are your thing, then, yes, Ted’s Food Truck also has you covered in that department. How does a chili dog sound right about now? If you are in the market for one, or another option in the hot dog department, then The Charcoal Chariot needs to be your next stop when it comes to Buffalo food trucks.

O.G. Wood Fire Pizza Truck

O.G. Wood Fire brings freshness and Neapolitan pizza to the streets of Buffalo. Some people are very particular about their pizza, especially when it comes to people who are from Chicago or New York, but that is no mystery. If you are looking for a pizza joint that comes with variety, freshness and brings the Neapolitan style to the table, then O.G. Wood Fire is your No. 1 option, and you can’t leave the Buffalo food truck scene without trying a slice or two.
